FAQ

I am in network with several insurance companies, including BCBS, United, Cigna, Tricare West, Aetna, and LSU First through Aetna.

Cost can vary depending on whether you are using insurance or paying out of pocket.

A typical individual session without insurance is $130.00

This is a great question!  For the most part therapy is completely confidential.  I can’t even say hello to you in the grocery store if you don’t want me too.  But sometimes I have to disclose what we talk about, if I feel like you are a danger to yourself or others, it’s helpful to discuss these limitations during the first session!

Both!  We can schedule sessions in person in my office in St. Francisville or we can do it over a secure telehealth platform.  Or you can switch between the two!

It depends, sometimes working through difficulties with your therapist can beneficial.  Most important is that you feel safe.  If you don’t feel safe then we shouldn’t do therapy together.  But I am happy to help you find someone who is a good fit!  We will talk about what isn’t working and work together to find someone who is a better fit.  The most important part of therapy is the relationship with your therapist, sometimes things don’t feel right and we can work it out and sometimes we just are not a good fit and then I want to make sure we find you someone who meets your needs.

I do not have 24 hour availability within my practice.  I am usually able to get back to you within 24 hours and can find an available appointment within the week.  We will go over emergency plans during your first session and make sure that plan works for you.

My ideal client is someone interested in working with their inner family.  Unburdening the parts of themselves that have been working hard at their jobs and are tired.

I most often work with older teen and adult clients with developmental trauma from dysfunctional family systems.

If you are still in Louisiana then yes.  If you are out of state then no.  I am currently only licensed in Louisiana and LCSW’s can only see clients located in a state where they are licensed.

It is up to you whether you share that we are in therapy together.

We will create a plan of care together.  Therapy can vary from weekly, to every other week to every month.  Sometimes people touch base with their therapist once a year like a check up with their doctor.

IFS Therapy Insights

“It's very simple. It's not so easy. But it's worth learning if you, you know, are interested essentially in generating better relationships, because you don't need to be a therapist for IFS to be a very useful way to see things. Because it's not a technique. It's a paradigm. It's a way of understanding the mind.”
